thank You for saving me, what can I say?

There comes a point when I stop and watch
Trying hard to look for You
Oh, I’ve walked this journey for twenty one years
Never once You’ve not seen me through.

Was it then? When I was fifteen? Life seemed so bleak and bare
You led me by my hand to the Cross where You were slained
You said, “Come, be my heir.”

So I tried to adorn myself with oil,
Gold jewellery, braided hair and fine clothes.
I dressed my life with the worths of this world
But all I needed was Your yoke.

Now as I walk each step of this journey,
I realize it gets tougher each day.
It doesn’t help either that on most days the only way out
Is with tears flowing, heart bowed, to obey.

So why do I choose this road of Christ
I have, but one hope, I strive.
You said, “Be faithful to the point of death
And I’ll give you the Crown of Life.”
