do You hear her crying?
do You hear her weep?
do You hear her screaming out to You in her sleep?

Lord i pray that You put joy in her heart
that small and young heart
that heart that belongs to You
Lord i pray that You take away sadness from it
i pray that You make it submissive
that You help her to learn to find peace and strength from You.

i pray that You give me strength
and wisdom from my mouth
so that i may help nurture this child too.
